100+ Morning Meeting Discussion Questions

I usually start my morning meeting discussion questions with "If you could ONLY PICK ONE ..." Challenging students of all abilities to pick one answer instead of saying choosing "both" teaches decision making, opportunity cost, problem-solving, reasoned judgement, open-mindedness, and positive risk-taking. There will be times in life when everyone will be allowed to only pick one of something. The level of difficulty in these situations can be easy, medium, or hard while it is also an essential life skill. So, this is a fun way to teach students how to handle moments like that in the long run. Discussion questions like these can build other social emotional skills, such as getting to know each other, communication, respect, and a sense of community. I display the morning meeting discussion "question of the day" on a Google Slide on the Smart Board with written/picture visuals to support students with reading challenges and for engagement. As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words" making this inclusive approach Universal Designed for Learning (UDL). Here are 330 morning meeting discussion questions.
